Lift Up Your Fellow Man! April 1, 2020

Many of us born again, spirit filled believers are doing well. We are home resting; we are revved up, filled up, and spiritually exploding. However, the mass majority of people are not. They are concerned and afraid of what is happening around them. Now is the greatest hour to be a blessing and encouragement.

One of the greatest, simplest, and easiest things to do during this time is to listen. Let people talk about their fears, concerns, and problems. Listen without shutting them down with your interruptions of positive words or scriptures (even though we are filled with them). Validate their feelings with comforting and understanding words such as, "I know this is a difficult time we are in. Are you ok?", "That sounds like it's hard. Try not to worry. It will be ok.", or "That really stinks. I'm sorry you are going through that."

People need to talk, and we need to listen, even if we do not agree with their fears or worries. So, this is the best part; after they are done talking, ask if they would like you to pray for them. Then, pray earnestly with kindness and compassion. James 5:16
